We are happy to announce today that National Safety Systems, the nationally recognized security division of Transportation Solutions & Lighting, Inc., has signed an agreement to upgrade the great Augusta University's blue light emergency towers and camera system throughout their beautiful campus in Augusta, Georgia. The project's scope will involve campus wide blue light tower installations, upgrades and restoration of every tower to include Knightscope’s industry-leading wireless technology.
Augusta is Georgia’s second-oldest and second-largest city. It is situated on the southern banks of the Savannah River. Augusta University, founded in 1828, is known as Georgia’s health/sciences/medical college, serving over 10,000 students. The University also prides itself as a comprehensive research university offering more than 150 areas of study. The University has 4 local campuses and encompasses more than 200 acres. Since 1828, students have come to experience the exceptional teaching and groundbreaking research that the University has to offer. National Safety Systems believes campus safety is of paramount importance and that all learning institutions, such as colleges and universities, are places for learning, personal growth, and community. Ensuring the safety and well-being of students, families, and staff is fundamental to maintaining this environment.
According to a Noodle Survey of 985 parents, the most important factor considered when evaluating potential colleges for their respective children is how safe the campus environment is. Without Knightscope’s blue light towers on campus, colleges may not be able to attract prospective students to their campuses. One of the most valuable aspects of a blue light tower is its ability to increase the awareness of on-campus security measurements. In times of crisis, quick and well-informed decisions can make all the difference between survival and tragedy. The replacement of all blue light towers is a testament to Augusta University’s dedication to the well-being of its community. “We are honored to work with Augusta University to enhance campus safety,” said Cecile Nguyen, CEO of TS&L. “Our state-of-the-art emergency blue light towers will provide a reliable and effective means of communication, further demonstrating our commitment to safer communities.”
The primary function of blue light emergency towers is to facilitate quick and direct communication with emergency services, such as law enforcement, medical response teams, or campus security. They are designed to be easily accessible and user-friendly, often featuring a prominent button that instantly connects the user to emergency personnel when activated. Blue light emergency towers are designed to provide swift and reliable access to emergency assistance in public spaces. The functionality of these towers revolves around seamless communication with emergency services and the implementation of additional safety features to ensure the well-being of individuals within their vicinity. Knightscope’s towers and callboxes lead our industry in terms of design, functionality, and performance.
