As part of the project, TS&L will be installing a comprehensive network of blue light towers and emergency call boxes across the university campus, with a focus on all parking garages. The new initiative will significantly improve the campus’s safety and security, ensuring students, faculty, and visitors have access to immediate assistance when needed.
The project involves replacing outdated call boxes throughout the campus, as well as adding new emergency call boxes in the university’s parking garages, where enhanced safety is a top priority. In addition to this physical infrastructure upgrade, the university will also benefit from the installation of advanced Knightscope technology, featuring state-of-the-art surveillance cameras and real-time monitoring capabilities. Each blue light tower will be equipped with a 10-day battery backup system, ensuring reliability in case of power outages.
To further enhance the security and reduce liability, the system will be paired with daily monitoring software, providing real-time alerts and ongoing performance checks. This daily software monitoring will ensure that every call box and blue light tower is fully operational, minimizing any risk of malfunction and enhancing the university’s overall safety profile.
